And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.

As I consider the movement of God in this year’s Youth Conference, it seems very prophetic to me that this is the 7th year of holding these meetings. It was a time of renewal for me and I believe also for several of those who attended. We made the trip to Umuebule on Wednesday the 8th of August and had a short prayer meeting that evening before heading to bed to prepare for the days ahead.

Before the meetings began, I was afflicted by a terrible bout of food poisoning which seemed a bad omen to me but which I later came to understand was the devil’s way of trying to hinder me from partaking in the wonderful feast God had prepared for His children. Every day was a struggle. My physical body was so weak, but my spirit man was receiving so much life from the word that was being brought. In fact, I found that the only time I had strength was when the word was coming or when we were responding to it in prayer.

On Thursday morning God began to speak to us about a radical lifestyle change. It was a word I had heard before but suddenly, my heart was responding to it in a new way. God was asking specific things of me. ‘Look at this, is it a necessity? If not, cut it off’. The word brought a rebuke and we were faced with a choice, we could either choose to continue in our own way- incorporating our little light with the gross darkness that was in and around us in which case being carnal Christians- and end up sons of perdition, or we could choose to begin to sanctify, purify and consecrate ourselves, and fully concentrate on becoming sons of God.

God is looking for a people who are earnestly waiting for and expecting His coming- like the wise virgins in Matthew 25 who had oil in their lamps and in their vessels- that He might make them His bride (He will not tolerate any spot or blemish in His bride and as it says in Revelation 19:7, it is our responsibility to make ourselves ready). This union between God and man is what God is calling us to; the 4th dimension, a realm of eternity where humanity is one with the Elohim as signified by the wood and the gold of the ark of the covenant.

On Saturday morning during the worship, we began to sing the song ‘Hear us o spirits of darkness’ and there was an unction that we should write down some of the things that we’re struggling with. Needless to say, my list was very long. Afterwards we raised our papers an addressed those spirits and I believe God’s deliverance was made available to me in that moment. Decisions I had thought impossible to make, I found myself making without a second thought. One issue that God really addressed was social media and I felt a liberty to rid myself of those things that I hadn’t felt before.

It reminds me of a word Brother Burt shared about Genesis 28:12 where Jacob dreamt of the ladder with the angels ascending and descending. The revelation that came was that the angels are indicative of the word of God which comes down to lift us up and out of our earth. But it is our responsibility to be open to it and allow the word of God to work in us- and God will only deal with us based on how much we want Him. Even with the parable of the sower, the same seed went forth on the good ground and yet the fruit varied 30, 60 and 100-fold. And what differentiates the 30 from the 60 from the 100? It is the desire in the heart and the willingness to seek God.

Altogether the camp was really an encounter with God and I believe that moving forward God has equipped each one of us to overcome and become sons of God. However, we must continue to submit ourselves to the word of God that we might be changed.
